Android users are currently exposed to a ransom program that simulates WannaCry
Security researchers from Trend Micro have warned that Android smart phones are currently being attacked by a new version of the Slocker program, but in a way that simulates the WannaCry interface, a ransom program that has created widespread controversy and infected thousands of Windows users recently.
Trend Micro says that SLocker usually comes bundled with cheat tools for games on the Android system, video players and other popular programs, trying to change the phone background after being able to device.
It is strange that the malicious program does not encrypt all system files as it is known, but encrypts files with predefined specifications, video files and images that are larger than 10 KB and less than 50 MB, and then gives the user three ways of payment, and Then increase the amount over time to be deleted files after 7 days if not paid (we in ironGhost blog warn of this and advise you not to pay any cents for ransom programs).
The company noted that the SLocker is one of the oldest ransom programs for the Android system and decrypting files encrypted by him is easy for security experts.
It is worth mentioning that we recommend that all followers of the professional code to update the system periodically and we advise them to install applications from the official store only, in addition to backing up important files and the system in general.
