Facebook unveiled its plans on Thursday for the massive new construction project at Menlo Park, California, part of Facebook's plans to expand its base. The 56-acre site, which Facebook bought in 2015, is estimated at $ 400 million, directly across the street from Shashka. It will provide 1.6 million square feet of housing, or 1,500 units.

According to a person familiar with the plans, the construction will take about a decade, and the first phase of the project, which will include housing and the grocery store, will be completed in the first half of 2021. The later stages will be completed every two years, according to reports on Facebook.
