MySpace site scandal! Now anyone can hack any user's account easily !!
For people of a certain age, having a Myspace account was necessary. Countless people have spent years of adolescence. But ten years later, Myspace has become a remnant of the past. He has been forgotten, but has not completely disappeared, he is in a strange state. Although no one is updating their profile anymore, but the latter is still there, ignored and disliked.
Myspace may be aware of the fact that many people have since lost access to the email accounts associated with their personal files, and offer a tool to recover them. Simply verify your identity by providing a few information.
Unfortunately, according to information shared by security researcher Leigh-Anne Galloway, this process is extremely damaging, making it easy for anyone to access any account unauthorizedly.
When you recover a forgotten Myspace account for a long time, you are asked to provide information about the account. Myspace says that the more information you provide, the greater your chances of getting back.
This is an automated process. Once you've successfully accessed an account, you're prompted to change your password before you go to your profile.
So, what do you need to access your account? While Myspace prompts you for the current email address, as well as the email address on the account, it does not validate this. It only checks three information: personal name, user name and date of birth.
Names are found in the same profile, and you can distinguish the username from the link address (for example, if the link is myspace.com/huhu, then huhu is the username). The only hard part is the birth date, but you can find out by looking at other social networking sites.
Once you get that three information, you can hack any account in Myspace.
Galloway reported this problem to Myspace in April of this year. The company sent an automated response but failed to act.
She also encouraged anyone with the ability to delete his account to do so, saying: "Since" is no longer the number one in social media sites, but has the duty to care for users in the past and present.
